I’m sorry, but I just can’t bring myself to be kind anymore—I can feel change in myself. I used to be a very kind guy, always ready to help anyone; I loved making others happy... but looking back now, I realize that while I left a positive mark on their hearts, I lost myself along the way. All that good cheer, generosity, and kindness went to waste. I don’t recognize myself anymore. I faced a difficult situation where four people showed me incredible generosity—almost in spite of themselves (I can never thank them enough)—whereas the people who usually surround me are there for nothing.
