Call it what it is: Propaganda. I refuse to believe that being a dentist—or a female entrepreneur—means being the punch bag for a broken system. That sacrificing our mental health is just “part of the job.” That working more hours makes you a “better” doctor. That it’s acceptable to miss the big moments in life because you can’t swap a shift. That we’re meant to pretend night shifts don’t harm our health. That you can’t have a life outside your career. That success means constant guilt. That rest means you’re not committed. That you signed up for this, so just endure it. That if you’re assertive, you’re aggressive. If you’re glamorous, you’re superficial. If you’re successful, you’re intimidating. If you show emotion, you’re unstable. If you lead with confidence, you’re a bitch. That “strong female boss” is somehow an insult. That ambition in women is threatening. That working part-time makes you lazy. That failure makes you unfit. That wanting softness means you’re weak. #boss
