Lord, you gave us Your Servant Nelson Baker as an example of service to the poor, homeless and the young. By "Father Baker's" ardent concern for those in need, inflame our hearts and lives with compassion for the poor, justice for the oppressed, hope for the troubled and courage to those in doubt. I was Maid of Honor in my cousin's wedding there and it was stunning. I also worked 6 years for Our Lady of Victory Infant Home, Father Baker's. I cared for disabled people and teenage mothers in my time there. My office was once a bedroom for unwed mothers to be who were being hidden during their "confinement". So many different types of history have gone through the church and the home itself. Fascinating place. Thank you for highlighting it.
