I think the parents need to understand the law and have their children abide by the law. those e-bikes are dangerous in the wrong hands. those that are trying to use the e-bikes need to be aware of the law and abide by them. simply wanting one and saving for one in buying one is like telling a kid you can save for a car and drive it once you get it because you bought it. nothing can be further from the truth and parents are responsible for their children. the moment he wanted to buy an e-bike the parents should have been looking up to statutes for their state to find out if he could actually own one legally. he bikes in my neighborhood and in the state of Arizona need a motorcycle license, proof of insurance, a motorcycle license for the rider, and because they're under 18 helmets and protective gear. they're not just little scooters as many of them go over 40 miles an hour. you've already got kids riding around doing stunts that cause accidents in traffic because they think they're immune from laws. they are not I assure you. dad can be upset as much as he wants, it's his fault because he didn't check the laws of his state.
