When my friend from out west was shocked that hiking on the east coast could still be difficult for her, I had to gently explain that while yes there’s more O2 here, we start closer to sea level and get up and down a ton of ridges to gain 5-6,000 ft whereas in CO we were starting closer to 10,000 ft and only gain closer to 3,000 ft. Both have their unique challenges and beauty, that’s part of what’s fun.
