I deeply feel this. I always had my family make fun of me for my hair. Never knew how to style it, manage it, so I straightened it. I finally at 28 took my first professional photo with my natural curly hair. It felt really good.

I noticed in the younger photos your hair was straighter on the top and not now? What did you do? My daughter has this as well and hates it. She wants it curly everywhere. Beautiful hair by the way!

for years growing up I hated my curly hair so much so.. I decided that I would do the Japanese straightening. I did this for 15 years because I thought that the beauty standard required that I had poker straight hair. five years ago I changed my mind it took me nearly 3 years to grow out but I've gone back to curly again and I do not regret it....
