That DNA/blood group (R1 haplo-blood group) is where you get blonde and auburn-red hair, blue/green eyes, & fair skin. Representing 8-10% of the World’s population. As a blonde-blue who speaks English—I resent being called “white non-Hispanic” on medical forms. I am not a “not”, —I am a person with a heritage, & ‘non’ is a derogatory prefix. Also, Spanish speaking Hispanics with dark hair/eyes aren’t Nordic, therefore they are not “White “. “The Fairness Test” is this— if you cannot do it to one group/thing, then you cannot do it to another. Fairness must go both ways. Imagine calling male a ‘non-female’, or a female a ‘non-male’…that’s terrible, right? But everyday White people get referred to as “non-Hispanic”. Many people (90% of the world) have dark hair/dark eyes—yet retain their ethnicity, & have their culture celebrated habitually: Blacks/Africa, Muslims/ Middle East, Chinese/Asian, Polynesian, India, Mediterranean, Italian, Spanish, South America, Central America, Mexican, Native American Indian, Eskimo/Inuits, Aboriginal Australian.
