it does double exposure BUT you can tell it's analog, that it's physical, light messing with itself as it hits the sensor instead of pixels, and it looks SO much better for it.

To those hating, sure you can do this in post but the real magic is seeing the effect live on set with actors on hand, if it’s not working you can pivot. We need more real practical movie magic like this.
