@epic.shutter.photography: September 26, 2026, a portion of the Avon Fishing Pier fell into the ocean after a 3 day beating from the Atlantic Ocean from the Nor’Easter storm. This crooked pier has withstood so many storms and is a beloved fishing and surfing spot to many locals and visitors to Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Oh no, and a long winter ahead. 😥 I hope they can repair it. I've lived in KDH for 31 years and haven't been on that pier since I was a kid. I hate that I've put off so long visiting the best places in my own home, and they're all disappearing. 😢
