Pack with me for a quick 3-day, 2-night backpacking trip!! One of the questions I get asked the most is “What do you actually pack for a backpacking trip?” So here’s a look at what’s going in my pack for this particular weekend! First things first: this is just what works for me. I’m also not an ultralight backpacker. I carry the things I personally find value in, including a few comfort items that someone else might not think are necessary and that’s totally okay!! Backpacking is definitely not one-size-fits-all. Your pack is going to look different depending on the trail, mileage, weather, season, your personal needs, comfort level, and even who you’re hiking with. For this trip, I’m packing specifically for where I’m going, the expected weather, and what I personally like to have with me. There are things I’ll carry on other trips that I don’t need for this one, and things you might carry that I choose to leave at home. A couple things I didn’t show going directly into my pack: my tent setup and cooking/utensil setup shown toward the end, because I’m not personally carrying those on this particular trip. AND because apparently I forgot I need shoes 😂 for this trail I’ll be hiking in my Altra Lone Peaks, and I’m bringing my Tevas as camp shoes, which I hook onto the outside of my pack. If you want the FULL breakdown, I have a detailed weekend backpacking packing list on my blog with links to the gear I use + a downloadable backpacking checklist you can use to help organize your own trips. 🔗 Full gear list + downloadable checklist are on the blog linked in my bio! At the end of the day, pack for your trip, your needs, and what makes your time outside enjoyable. There’s more than one right way to backpack. 🫶 backpacking | backpacking gear | backpacking packing list | weekend backpacking | beginner backpacking | hiking gear | backpacking checklist | 3 day backpacking trip | outdoor gear
