@thinkingcanine: There is a video clip going around stating that this dog was deemed unadoptable into the community because she played with toys… and this is so far from the truth that it’s not even funny. With a documented history of attacking or trying to attack both people and animals, ethical shelters don’t adopt out dogs like this. Testing with stuffed dogs has been shown to be very accurate in some cases (specifically with ex-fighting dogs) and to show which dogs might be “friendly”. In proper tests real dogs are walked out first, and then the stuffed dog is walked out and interacted with exactly as if it’s a real dog. The most interesting part of all of this is this dogs reaction when she goes out of the “red zone” and realizes it’s just a toy. Complete disengagement. Why? Because this dog doesn’t care much about toys. Yep. #dogbehavior #dogbodylanguage #reactivedog #shelterdog

I think this is such a crappy example of whatever you’re trying to show. You can say whatever opinions and whatever stories you have about that dog, but an aggressive dog wouldn’t let no animal looking like toy or roll around it while she is sniffing grass.

I think it’s hard for a lot of people to admit that some dogs have behavioral issues that makes them a general danger to everyone around them

there are TOO many good dogs being put down everyday to put resources into *trying* to rehab aggressive dogs. One strike policy and then the dog who bites gets put down

Behavioral euthanasia is very important. You can’t rehabilitate a lot of dogs cause it’s not like they can do talk therapy about their issues

Non ethically bred “bully” dogs are absolutely a risk, they aren’t predictable, if they have this high of a prey drive they really cannot be helped

And yes, I'm sure with proper training. This dog could be trained to not attack animals, but there is so many healthy better tempered dogs out there that are being euthanized. Why not save one of them instead

People put too much faith in dogs’ ability to differentiate between a squeaky toy and a screaming small dog or child. We cannot take prey drive lightly, especially in bully breeds who are bred to keep going until their prey stops moving/screaming.

If a dog has killed other animals randomly out of aggression then yes they should be euthed. Shelters cannot risk adopting out aggressive animals and do not have the resources for every single dog

It gets to a point where having a dog isn’t only affecting u, it’s affecting the people around you. If u have an aggressive dog and u choose to take that dog out onto the street, ur putting the public in harms way.

Everyone in the comments is missing the fact it's already KILLED another dog. It's not worth the time, resources or the risk for rehoming.

I think many people want to save all dogs which is admirable in theory but not realistic. Community safety has to be taken in account and a dog like this will attack someone else’s dog(sure we can try to manage the dog aggression but management will always fail eventually). This dog could cause larger problems to neighbors and community members that didn’t sign up for it. I think being put down would be the most responsible and ethical decision

First of all, bloodlines. That’s a no brainer. If it’s a blood sport dog, you better be a highly trained dog whisperer, have no children, have secure fences, etc

We adopted a dog who was “tested” and deemed safe for a house with cats/dogs/kids who escaped her kennel and attacked and killed my senior cat while I was at work *ON MY BIRTHDAY* She ruined dogs for me. Thank god this happened before I had kids, or she could have mauled or killed my kids. Should always err on the side of caution when lives are literally at stake.
