We're not weak. we're just more aware of our emotions and brave enough to own and feel them.

My take is because in our generation (millennials) di kami lumaki sa socmed and internet. Back in the day, tv was only used for news or tv shows. Not much telenovela. Movies are watched in cinemas (sa malls). Cellphones during our time, was purely just for communication. Games were simple back then. And computers were only used for researching or for school. Nowadays, people can freely check everything online via all gadgets. Certain films are now shown in TV na hindi nmn good for kids, mostly telenovela ra ‘third party’ or violence. My point is, madami ways ang kabataan to access info’s na hindi dapat for them, and if walang guidance from any adult, people can bad influence them to use it to inflict others, or they can use to bully you. Such as certain games like Roblox, mga sindikato can manipulate these kids minds, gain trusts, hence why we see kids shooting sa school. Our time, bugbog at sabunotan lang. The worst maybe was may sinaksak ng ballpen or pencil. But you don’t see that happening quite often in a year..

It actually makes your generation stronger. As Millennials, we were taught to endure and hide our struggles, and sometimes we passed that pain on without realizing it. We may look strong on the outside, but many of us are crumbling within. Your generation is learning to acknowledge those struggles instead of carrying them in silence and that, to me, is strength.

We are not weak simply at the fact we are able to be aware that we are just humans. We get tired, overwhelmed, and admittedly we get burned out. Tbh, I think we are one of the smartest generations for being able to realize that life shouldn't be like this. Previous generations established a robotized-society where everyone follows the same routine and path, and that feeling your emotions makes you weak (kagaya na nga lang sa toxic masculinity). We are one, if not, the strongest generation for the mere fact that we are enduring the mistakes of the past, learning where they went wrong, trying to make a change in the world, while also understanding our limitations, both physically and emotionally as imperfect beings that we are.

nobody taught us to handle our emotions. we want to know more and we try. instead of doing what the prev generation did, we tried actually handling it. we're in a process of self-teaching, self-soothing, and self-regulating. and they never taught us this.

Personally, our generation is weak but strong enough to admit that we're weak.

love this take!! being weak isn't an insult anymore, but rather could even be seen as bravery because we're willing to admit that we're not okay. it actually adds value kasi we're aware of those weaknesses. if we have awareness of it, we can then think of an action plan that works for us ✨

napaisip din ako dyan. kasi habang lumalaki ako nag kaka opinion, tapos pag sumagot ako i kukumpara nila ako sa dating sila na tumatahimik lang. naninibago siguro sila kasi mismong mga kabataan nila dati di nila nasasabi kung ano talaga yung iniisip nila kasi for them mas superior talaga yung mga magulang, which is I agree, they should guide us, pero nagkakamali rin naman sila, that doesn't mean na sometimes kapag nag bigay ka ng thoughts sa mga bagay bagay mo e wala ka ng respeto ‘di ba? it must be hard for them kasi imbes na ma express mo sarili mo e tinatago nalang kasi you want to keep the "respectful child" title

i like your take!! but i also think it's because of isolation--the evolving technology around us. isolation from other people made us weaker and more individualized than ever. even the pandemic. physically weaker (the general population) because for 2 years we spent our lives at home. nasanay tayo na nasa bahay lang, walang ginagawa. globalization is also a big part of it, not just solely because we are more aware of mental health now :>
the generation today is vastly different kasi iba rin yung kinalakihan ng mga older generations dati. wala masyadong cyber bullying, cancel culture. most of our lives today ay umiikot na sa social media where values, morals, and beliefs are mixed. i'm not saying we also have to endure the trauma that was once considered normal to be strong, since this is a spectrum--walang tama lang, walang mali lang. again, i am acknowledging your observations but please don't just look at it that way lang 😊 i also learned from you 💖

our generation kasi is open enough to acknowledge na nasasaktan tayo and we are willing to open/talk about it, eh kaso ang stereotype kasi ng mga previous generation is kapag pinakita mo or inadmit mong nasasaktan ka ibig sabihin sa kanila eh you’re weak or hindi mo kaya, pero tayo kasi inalis na natin ‘yun that’s why for the elders we seem “weak”
