Part 2: She Thought Home Depot Wouldn’t Notice the Toilet Seat Swap: On June 11, 2025, deputies responded to a Home Depot in Palm Coast, Florida, after a reported retail theft. Loss prevention officers stated that a woman, later identified as Jamie, entered the store with a yellow bag containing an old toilet seat. She reportedly concealed a new $44.98 comfort toilet seat beneath the old one and exited the store without paying. When confronted outside by store security, Jamie allegedly refused to comply and fled on foot, leaving the stolen item behind. She entered a white Jeep Wrangler and the vehicle fled the scene. Deputies later located the vehicle on I-95 and attempted a traffic stop. Jamie was seen in the passenger seat and was heard telling the male driver not to comply. She then allegedly reached over and shifted the vehicle into drive, prompting the vehicle to flee at high speeds, reportedly reaching 100 mph and driving recklessly through traffic. Law enforcement in Volusia County later located the vehicle abandoned near an address linked to the male driver. Jamie was later apprehended and arrested by Volusia County deputies for fleeing and eluding. Inside the vehicle, authorities observed numerous store items and prepaid bags, believed to be linked to organized retail theft activity. Post-Miranda, Jamie admitted to the theft at Home Depot. A criminal history check revealed a prior theft conviction from 2024.
