The Police Intelligence Directorate conducted a special anti-robbery operation at Ejura on 18th March 2026 to arrest members of a robbery gang who have been terrorising residents and commuters and have been involved in a series of robberies in the area. One of the suspects, Amadu, also known as “Manu” sustained gunshot wounds during the operation and was later pronounced dead. The suspect has been linked to a robbery attack on 14th March 2026 along the Atebubu–Ejura highway, where the robbers fired into a moving vehicle and injured a passenger. Exhibits retrieved from the suspect include a single-barreled gun, five live cartridges, a Tecno Pop 10 mobile phone, and cash sum of GH¢200.
