Hi liz , im an arab woman from saudi arabia, me and a lot of saudi arabian women are forced to wear niqab to cover our face, and it can go far like abuse or even murder because of this thing. we made a hashtag called "٢٠٣٠_بدون_نقاب" which means “2030 without niqab” and also #no_more_niqab. We want our voices to be heard by the whole world and we need your support just like when we needed the permission to drive. We need your help and support as we speak up and ask for our minimum rights untill the government bans the niqab! Please and thank you 🙏🏻💞💞

@آيـات:To all feminists and organizations defending women’s rights around the world: Please hear the voices of Iraqi women. Women in Iraq are facing growing concerns over their legal rights, particularly regarding the impact of the Jaafari Personal Status Code on marriage, divorce, inheritance, and child custody. We are not fighting against a religion or a sect. We are demanding that women’s rights, dignity, and legal protection remain above discrimination. We urge you to speak for us, amplify our voices, and stand with Iraqi women. Please do not leave us alone. #IraqiWomen #WomenRights #StandWithIraqiWomen #Iraq

@zahraa:::We appeal to all women worldwide and international women's rights organizations to stand in solidarity with the women of Iraq and support their struggle for justice and equality. Iraq has passed a new law known as the "Jaafari Personal Status Code," which has raised serious concerns about women's rights and legal protection. We urgently call upon women's rights organizations around the world to support Iraqi women and defend their rights, dignity, and equal rights, and to ensure their protection under the law. We ask the international community to listen to the voices of Iraqi women and stand with them in their pursuit of justice and equal rights. Join us in demonstrations and using hashtags on Twitter (formerly Twitter).

Can you help us? There is a new law in Iraq that is being applied now, and we are trying to stop it through campaigns and demonstrations. It stipulates that after the age of seven, children's custody goes to the father in case of parental divorce, regardless of whether the father is good or not. And its name is the Ja'fari law

To everyone with a voice, to everyone with the power to do something for women in Iraq and contribute to change: Please, let my voice reach women's rights organizations. Imagine being born into a life that feels like a prison. Imagine being taught that your entire existence must revolve around a husband and child—that your worth is measured by how well you please them, how silently you endure the unbearable, and how much of yourselves you are willing to sacrifice. And then, the very child to whom you have dedicated your life can be taken from you. In my country, women have been given only a tiny space to live as human beings. We are expected to be mothers, wives, and caregivers before we are allowed to be individuals with our own dreams, choices, voices, and lives. And now, even motherhood itself can be taken from us. How much more must women lose before the world listens to us? Please, hear our voices. Please, help us be seen. Please, do not let Iraqi women continue to hide behind laws, traditions, and systems that were never built to protect them.

I do not know you personally, but I know that your son was taken from you and that you have experienced the pain of loss. In Iraq, there is a law that separates a son from his mother after divorce; please speak up about this issue—even a small effort might bring about change. 😞
