I’m currently pregnant with my third daughter. My oldest daughter is 8½, and she’s actually my half-sister. I adopted her after both of her parents struggled with addiction. When she was little, I stepped in because I knew she needed someone to fight for her and give her a safe, stable home. The custody and adoption process was a long, emotional fight, and it also ended up being a huge financial burden for our family. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat, because she is my daughter in every way that matters, but it definitely put us in a different financial position than we would have otherwise been in.
To add to an already heavy season, I also recently lost my mother to suicide, which has made this time even more emotional and challenging for our family.
My second daughter is now 14 months old, and we are getting ready to welcome our third little girl. We are so incredibly excited to grow our family, but financially, preparing for another baby while raising two other little girls—and navigating all of these life challenges—has been a lot. Between the expenses of adopting my oldest, the cost of raising our two little ones, and now preparing for another baby, there are a lot of things on our registry that I honestly don’t know how we’re going to afford.
I know you probably receive so many messages and stories, so I completely understand if ours doesn’t get chosen. But I figured it was worth putting myself out there and sharing our story. Having someone help us with our registry would genuinely mean so much to our family and would take a huge weight off of us as we prepare to welcome our newest little girl.
Thank you for even taking the time to read this. https://my.babylist.com/qmyujwayx
