Linnea :
I’ve been posting comments about Tom Odell for about a year now. But I think I’ve mentioned before that I’m too afraid to post videos or clips here on TikTok—or on social media in general. In short: You, Tom Odell, wouldn’t know me. But over the last few years—especially this past year—I’ve struggled to keep up. You have so many young fans creating beautiful, impressive videos. And, of course, you can see who they are—especially the fans right up at the front of the stage. I haven’t been able to do any of that. Yet, I feel such a deep connection to your music and your outlook on life and its questions that it hurts too much to keep seeing others manage to get "noticed." I understand why that happens, but I just don’t have the strength anymore. It has all affected me deeply—especially since my personal life is currently full of sad events. When I reach my limit, I withdraw; it hurts, but it is what it is. I won’t follow you or write long comments anymore. I like you too much, but reality makes it clear that I’d only be causing myself more pain by trying—without any real chance of success—to reach someone who will never be reachable. At least, not for me. I will continue to support you—Tom Odell—as well as your music and your journey. But even though no one—including you—will read this, I "had" to write it. It’s very painful, but I’m out of strength. You—and your music—have given me so much. That will remain, of course, but the reality is that one never really connects with someone in the public eye like you are. And if there is any interaction, it feels like a "little battle"—and that’s something I just can’t compete in. I should have realized it, but I’m only human, after all... To you, Tom Odell—should you happen to read this—I wish so much good that it would be too much to write it all down here. And by that, I mean the artist and musician Tom Odell—please, not another "Tom Odell" who sees an opportunity to exploit vulnerable people for personal gain. A.T. ××
