As a long time fan of TCAP, I feel like most people that are familiar with Chris Hansen don’t realize that he’s a complicated guy. They seem to think he’s an altruistic morally pure guy devoted to catching preds when he’s moreso an opportunistic nightcrawleresque bag chaser more concerned with money and views who fell upon a niche that’s a net positive.

I knew in my SOUL that people were not capable of approaching a movie about Chris Hansen and his failings with to catch a predator with the required level of nuance. I’m sort of doubtful the movie will do a whole lot better.

Well that actually sounds like a good movie. The point of movies is not to make everything black and white, good guy bad guy. It’s to question things like morality, even when it seems undeniably obvious who the good guy is and who the bad guy is. People that can’t generate a spec of nuance really need to question why they start blaming Bibi when a movie makes them feel conflicting emotions.

I haven’t seen the movie yet, but Hansen is kinda a villain. He did good things, but his motivation was always his own greed and ego. Hansen will do anything for money and fame, even hunt down bigger villains
