This is just a gentle reminder that variables of vernacular English exist. 'Aks', reminiscent of the Old English 'acsian', is a form of something called Metathesis where natural linguistic shift occurs. Same as how 'bird' used to be 'brid'. Additionally, the continuation of it can be attributed to the likes of AAVE, which is recognised as a legitimate vernacular....
