The comedy really worked for me. I think the repetitive nature captured the rule of thirds and played into the “I wouldn’t make that choice”aspect of the story. The horror didn’t work for me as much. Seeing the behind the scenes has only made me appreciate the film more. In my top 15 of the year for sure.

Said the same thing and my friend acted like I was crazy. It’s a fun movie but the over abundance of jokes really started to annoy me. I think the first half has a good balance of horror and a comedy. But right when we get in the car with those 2 umbrella agents It just went downhill. Still a fun movie but I wouldn’t give this more than a 7/10.

When I play resident evil 2, 4, 5, requiem, I did not laugh one time during gameplay because it’s not supposed to have that, so the comedy was for me not needed in this movie, I did like the movie but after that ending there better be a sequel

Have you even played any of the games? Genuine question. And the scientists were spot on with how incompetent they are in the games. And if the characters made good decisions there would be no movie…it’s difficult to even make good decisions in that type of scenario when he was essentially trapped, he was in too deep. And if your complaint is repetition, that’s rich when you love the MCU…(I enjoy the MCU as well btw, well what it used to be)

Wow it’s possible for Coy to have bad takes 😭 love your takes normally but this one is a miss. It’s the POV of a complete nobody random not a main character and that’s why we see him change in the end. It’s also the perspective of an average person playing through the games. They’re gonna make plenty of mistakes. As for the scientists, mind you these are the same scientists that created the outbreak. In Resident Evil 2 literally one of the scientists becomes a monster. As for the humor it’s not like Resident Evil isn’t funny and campy the games are obviously over the top and ridiculous at times and I think this kind of humor in the movie better translates for a movie than for an over the top game.
