@sarahd074: Please, before you leave a cruel comment, remember that Joseph was a HUMAN BEING. 💔 Yes, my son was in prison. He had made mistakes in his life, like so many people do. But being behind a prison door did not mean he deserved to die. Joseph was 29 years old. He was MY SON. He was a dad to a little girl. A brother to 3 brothers and 7 sisters. A grandson to a grandad already grieving the loss of his wife. He was loved beyond words. Joseph was struggling with his mental health. I had raised concerns about him. He needed care, support and appropriate checks to keep him safe. Instead, I received the news no mother should ever receive — my beautiful boy was gone. So when you see a picture of a “prisoner”, please remember there is a person behind that label. Someone’s child. Someone’s parent. Someone’s brother. Someone’s whole world. I will keep speaking Joseph’s name. I will keep sharing his story. And I will keep raising awareness of men’s mental health and suicide in prison. Because PRISONERS ARE PEOPLE TOO.
