@pauldamianelegy: Update: I wanted to thank all of you for the wonderful, heartfelt messages you’ve sent me over the last couple of weeks! It still feels so strange. The internet is both so intangible and illusory, yet incredibly real at the same time. I’ve always had this sensation of isolation. In my day-to-day life, I could probably count on one hand the number of people I interact with, and yet I received thousands upon thousands of messages from you. What I went through was, of course, personally a little tough, but there are infinitely worse things that can happen to someone. And yet, your support and love were immense. I must’ve done something right in this life so far to be worthy of something so beautiful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m back home now, recovering much faster than anticipated, and I’ll leave you with this wonderful poem by Bukowski, called “The Laughing Heart.” #poetry #poem #spokenword #charlesbukowski #author
