HERE’S HOW YOU DO IT 👇🏻 Firstly, share this video with all your Aussie Mum Friends! I don’t know a single person who wouldn’t love some extra cash in their pocket right now 💰💰 👉🏻Follow me for more parent tips like this & some wild twin/3 under 3 content 🤪 Here it is ⬇️ I recently learned more about how childcare bookings work with the Childcare Subsidy system (CCS) when we moved. 🤔Our booking was the same as the previous centre but the out of pocket cost was WAY more… I couldn’t understand why! 💵Then I learned about “hourly caps”. This is the maximum amount of dollar value that the Centrelink CCS system will cover per hour, depending on the centre type (centre based, family day care, etc). 😲Childcare centre-based care has an option for 10 or 12 hour bookings each day, but the daily rate remains the same regardless of the 10/12 hr booking. 🫣Our new childcare had booked us in for 10 hour days (I didn’t even know this was an option!), making our rate per hour higher. For example: $152/day divided by 10 hours = $15.20 per hour VS $152/day divided by 12 hours = $12.66 per hour 📈The maximum amount that Centrelink was covering for each of our children was $13.73 per hour. 🥴So for each child per hour we were paying an additional $1.47. Times that by the 3 children we had in childcare it equaled an extra $44.1 PER DAY out of pocket, totalling over $170 extra per week in childcare fees just because of a booking setting. ❌This has nothing to do with your entitled hours, that’s seperate. You can be below your claimable hours & still have this happen (like we did). This is to do with the hourly rate a centre charges. 👀So when I realised this, I immediately contacted our centre & opted for 12 hour bookings which brought our hourly rate below the maximum cap. 🙄By increasing the hours, we decreased the out of pocket expense. Go figure! 🙅🏼‍♀️However this doesn’t mean you need to keep your child in care for longer days, it’s just a setting. 📲SHARE to every Aussie parent you know 📲FOLLOW me for more parent tips! #aussiemums #motherhood #mumlife #sydneymums #brisbanemums #melbournemums #mum
