The way Pio is suffering from everyone’s anger, and everything boils down to his mother’s wrong doings and bad decisions. Starts from hiding things to his father that made him dislike the child, pushing Pio to his limits and only cared about him winning, doesnt care about his whole well-being, to abducting Jeongyo. Even he was about to tell the truth but the mother was blackmailing him. Istg, everything points at her the main villain. I understand that everything what happened also ruined Jeongyo’s life. But Pio… my heart bleeds for Pio. He’s too deep into the darkness. I am still hoping to see him happy in the end. Him and Jeongyo— thru music and friendship.

I think Choi is going to push Pio to his limits in order to get him out of his shell. That's the whole point, and he will hurt him in the process, but I don't think he's doing this just out of vengeance. Yes, he is resentful, but we can see in the scene where he's watching the metronome after being brutal with Pio that he looks regretful. At least, that's how I saw it. Also, the old Choi is still in there. We can see that he was hurting in the scene with his dad.

Jeong-yo cared for Pio before, but now he doesn't care about him anymore just because he has a suspicion. Pio is now taking all the consequences and doesn't care what it takes just to show how much he really cared for Jeong-yo.
