For me it's not JUST how they glorified slavery itself it's how they glorified the slave owners and villainized the abolitionists. Like that part has never sat right with me

If you watch the show Mamie was thr smartest character in the movie Who even Rhett Butler wanted respect from you have to read between the likes before you trash a whole movie. Plus Gone With the Wihs paved the way for other black actors to start appearing in movies

Yeah it’s a product of its time but I don’t think that’s the point it’s trying to make. The main characters Scarlett and Rhett aren’t slave owners, and Rhett (for whom is the most relatable one) is completely against slavery as a whole

Hear me out : YES it has to be watched with extensive analysis on the racist, super racist point of view. However, it’s also a great film because in the end everybody remembers 1. Women 2. Hattie mcDaniels. So Magic clearly happened. It’s a piece that should not be forgotten because the context makes the while production and screening an important moment in history that should be taught
