@helpmommy66: Started daycare… and now it feels like your child is sick every other week? 🤧 You’re not imagining that exhausting cycle. More close contact means more chances to encounter new germs. Let’s talk about why those illnesses seem nonstop, what to expect, and when to check in with your pediatrician. How long did the “daycare crud” stage feel in your house? 👇 I may not be your pediatrician, but you can always find me here. #DaycareGerms #DaycareLife #ParentingTips #Pediatrician #helpmommy
I understood them being sick, it was me being sick more than them that got me.

Is it good exposing them to those germs? I’ve kept my son out of day care. His 2 and hasn’t gotten sick. ‘Touch wood’

What age would you say it’s OK to start having your baby around people that have a slight cold

Is it bad or does it have a negative outcome if your kid does not go to daycare? Mine goes to my MIL couple times a week instead of daycare.

2 of my children started daycare at 6 weeks old. They both rarely ever get sick as adults. I watch both of my grandsons for my daughters (one daughter is a pediatric nurse & one daughter is a medical assistant) so both babies are constantly sick & swapping it back & forth. They should have a good immune system when they’re older.

Ok but little kid germs are something else. I've been a high school teacher for 15 years, and even still, I rarely get sick. Maybe a couple of seasonal colds each year. Since my baby has been in daycare for the past 9 months, my husband and I catch EVERYTHING. Most recently we both battled a stomach bug she brought home. It caused her to throw up once and have a a few extra poopy diapers. It took us each out for 2-3 days.

I am immunocompromised, so i get sick all the time from my husband working in customer service, but my toddler and baby have never been sick?
does that mean my toddler might be generally okay with daycare?

So there is no possible way to build the immune system without catching the disease?

The scene from Matilda where the Trunchbull says “teaching snot nose children their ABC’s” took on a whole new meaning after becoming a parent. 😂
