Tonight I tucked my son in. He fell asleep the way he always does — cheek squished into his pillow, one hand holding his Spider-Man, his Minion tucked in beside him, a full belly, a warm blanket, and not one single fear in his little world. He is cute and sweet and innocent, and above all, he is safe. He will wake up tomorrow, and I will be right here. That's a promise I get to make without even thinking about it. Then I look at the 2nd picture a friend sent to me. A picture of her children. That little boy fell asleep in a Marvel shirt — the same heroes my son hugs at night. Children are children, everywhere. But he didn't fall asleep in a bed. He fell asleep on a thin mat on a cold floor in rubble, to the sound of explosions, shelling, and drone buzzing. He went to sleep hungry. He went to sleep not knowing if he will wake up — and not knowing if his mama and papa will be alive when he does. He sleeps where insects crawl and rodents scurry through the dark, with no blanket that can make him feel safe, because there is no safe. My son did nothing to deserve his safe bed. That little boy did nothing to deserve his mat on the floor. The only difference between them is where they were born. Every child deserves what my son has tonight — a full belly, a warm bed, and a parent who can promise them morning. Please don't look away from the second photo. That's somebody's baby, sleeping the only way he's allowed to. 💔🤍 I share about Palestine because awareness is where help begins. Every family I advocate for survives because strangers on the other side of the world refused to look away — people who saw a post, shared it, gave what they could, and told someone else. The children sleeping in tents and rubble tonight don't get a voice in our headlines. We have to be their voice. So I'll keep posting, and I'm asking you to keep sharing about Palestine— because tonight, while our babies sleep safe in warm beds, a mother in Gaza is tucking hers in on a cold floor, hoping the world still remembers they're there.🙏🙏❤️‍🩹
