They’re in Howard beach by JFK airport he said. That’s all former marshland that leads to the ocean. They engineered the water out of the area in the 60’s but nature is reclaiming. And yeah some of the older home are large enough to have kayaks

To all the people saying this is fake because it “isn’t raining much in NY”: This is storm surge, which was the biggest threat from this nor’easter (aside from high winds). Due to the direction the wind is blowing (northeast), it’s intensity, the high tides - the ocean water is flooding onto the coastal areas. It has nothing to do with the amount of rain that is currently falling on land! That being said I am p sure we’re supposed to get slammed with rain overnight. 😅
