@theintrovertedrecruiter: I advertised a job in my team on Friday lunchtime. By about 4pm, 70 people had applied. I thought, right, I’ll go through them on Monday. Then someone messaged me on LinkedIn. She explained why she thought she was right for it and sent me her CV. I opened it. Her experience is pretty much exactly what I’m looking for. So I’m speaking to her on Monday. That’s how quickly things can move when a role needs filling. If you’re a strong fit, don’t just apply and hope someone spots you. Tell the person hiring why they should open your CV.
1. linkedin is awful. 2. probably should still hire the best person for the role, not the person whose best at promoting themself

ffchampion123 :
the problem is finding the hiring manager AND getting them to accept a message through LinkedIn. every hiring manager/talent acquisition I've tried never replied
