that's how many people are on lists for housing. 90 percent of the homeless aren't even counted. that number comes from DHS and RIhousing. THANK YOU FOR HELPING.

The number of homeless people in RI is likely a lot higher than this. Couch surfers, people sleeping in their cars, halfway houses & sober living are all forms of homelessness that many people don’t consider.

Worked EMS in Rhode Island for almost 10 years I would say it’s 0.5% to 1% of Rhode Islanders are homeless. so like 5,000-10,000 people homeless. People temporarily staying in nursing homes halfway houses and mental hospitals those people are homeless.

I hooked up my neighbor with a couple sweaters. Had seen her wearing one. It's easy to help. Even if in a small way.

that also doesn't include people in the situation I was in where I had a friend take me in but I technically didn't have a home of my own and only not on the street due to charity

I’m sharing this out in Springfield mass. I contacted two agencies in Rhode Island. But unfortunately, since in Springfield, there’s no way to donate. They said they won’t be able to pick up.
