@health.coach016: HIP PAIN THAT GETS WORSE WHEN SLEEPING ON THE SIDE? What if the spot that hurts isn’t actually the only structure involved? That hard bump on the outside of your hip is the greater trochanter—and several important structures meet around it, including the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus tendons. Here’s where it gets interesting: when you sleep directly on that side, your body weight can increase compression around these tissues. If the area is already sensitive, something as simple as lying in bed may make the discomfort much more noticeable. But there’s another clue many people overlook. The discomfort may sometimes travel down the outside of the thigh, making the source harder to recognize. And that’s why calling every case of outer-hip pain “bursitis” can oversimplify what’s happening. The location of your pain—and exactly which positions trigger it—may reveal important clues about the structures involved. Save this if your hip keeps interrupting your sleep. #hippain #hipbursitis #gtps #glutealtendons #physicaltherapy
