yeah man go back to before my dad works with Interior designers, before looks better, it fills the space a lot much better either that or remove the book shelf and add a similar potted plant to the other side then make your gallery art wall

The previous setup was really nice but since you mentioned wanting to get rid of some things, I’d suggest getting a corner shelf, or maybe even a ladder shelf. I wouldn’t want you to waste money on a different shelf though so I don’t know 😓

Ngl man it’s partially just the contrast of the black/dark wood against the plain white bg plus how close it is to the tv stand, you can get funky and move that plant and shift the tv and couch to be more \ instead of | (does that make sense) so the bookshelf has more breathing space, it’ll look better once you throw stuff up on the walls and you can put the plant maybe near the window or couch

You should try to tilt the shelf a bit in the corner to connect to the wall and where the tv is, and then you could put a planet in the other corner and still have plenty of room for a gallery wall. You’d only be able to fit one shelf though, and maybe have to move the tv a little to fit the shelf.
