@herbswithjen: God made a plant that feeds the lining He built inside you, and most you think it’s a weed. Plantain. Not the banana. Plantago lanceolata is the narrow ribbed one, Plantago major is the wide one. Same medicine. LUNGS AND KIDNEYS, ONE PLANT There is a reason it reaches both. Lungs and kidneys form from related tissue, so they answer together. BEST USE Hot infusion for the lungs. A heaping teaspoon of dried leaf per mug, just-boiled water, covered, 10 minutes. Two to three cups a day. Cold infusion for the urinary tract and for dry, raw, burning tissue. Same teaspoon, cool water, lid on, overnight. Two preparations. Two jobs. Alcohol does not pull the mucilage, so tincture is for acute and topical work. Not a rescue herb. A trophorestorative is not a dose, it is a season. WHAT THE RESEARCH SHOWS Lungs: 80 adults with acute bronchitis, double-blind, placebo-controlled, Plantago major syrup 10 mL three times daily for 10 days. Severity score fell to 2.57 versus 5.77 on placebo (Caspian J Intern Med, 2024) Europe’s medicines regulator approves ribwort plantain leaf for dry cough and cough with a cold. For throat and skin it specifies a COLD macerate, not hot. (EMA, rev. 1) DO NOT USE IF Allergic to ribwort plantain or its pollen. Education, not medical advice. “He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man.” Psalm 104:14 Save + share this! . . . . #christianherbalist #herbalremedies #fyp #herbsforhealth #lungsandkidneys

So would plantain also do well for gut lining, and especially for those who suffer from leaky gut?

Knowledge is meant to be shared never kept, thank you for sharing coach. If you have little bit of mucus in your lungs, would it be helpful for this?

I love the way you explain this stuff, I love your tone and cadence, but the way you bring God into it is off putting. It’s giving Abrahamic evangelical. I’m very spiritual, believe in God, and love woo woo, so it’s not that the subject of god in general is oppositional to my outlook, it’s the WAY you say it. And it’s off putting to the point that I might continue looking for a different cool herbalist to learn from. I’m mentioning this not as a hater, but because maybe you’ll take this as constructive criticism and modify the delivery for your audience. Most herbal enthusiasts I know don’t have the warmest relationship with evangelical Abrahamic vibes.

George Washington Carver used the broad leaf plant for topical first aid, insect bites, used it for wound healing and as a drawing agent for splinters. It was also used as a digestive aid as well as respiratory and culinary use. It’s a great “weed”. They called it the soldiers herb during the revolutionary war.
