I live 15 min out of Portland believe it or not just far enough to not have to be in Portland! I adore you and am not sure why anyone would want to Vaca there. I love that 90% of these suggestions are all out side of Portland. several sending you more than an hour away from there 🤣. Powell books sure!! if books are your jam it's a good vibe for sure. coffee!! you will get the best coffee there no matter where you go that is not Starbucks! I personally loved the sternwheeler suggestion! the zoo if y'all don't have one, voodoo is so overrated. if you need a doughnut go to angels in Vancouver, but for a better pastry, a must is home macaroon is hands down a tourist must have. Halloween town is a one and done but go at least once! love me some Japanese gardens for some beautiful pictures and zen time. for a super "Portland vibe" I feel McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale (again not in Portland!) is the it!!! for sure. and I don't even drink!. book a room 😂 I dare you. I've never lasted the whole night!. the coast here is pretty amazing, Multnomah falls... but if you are wanting to Vaca here just for the "Family 🌈 values" just go to Seattle. portland use to be the place to be. in my opinion it is now very much NOT the place to be. and that person that said downtown isn't as bad as the news makes it out to be, lied to you! ❤️have a beautiful vacation, with all of these suggestions that are no where near Portland!

Skip Voodoo. Definitely go to Powell's. This time of year, GO to the Japanese Gardens one day. Go to Multnomah Falls. Spend one day on the coast...from Tillamook to Cannon Beach.

Other than making reservations at Ravens Manor immediately, here are some suggestions. The Freakybuttrue Peculiarium and Museun. It's off of NW 23rd, where there is amazing food and treats, like Salt and Straw. Halloween Town in St. Helens, it's not far from Portland. Uber will get you there, or I'll lend you my car 🤣. Shanghai Tunnels tour, Voodoo Donuts, Stumptown Coffee. Multrnomah Falls is stunning. SO many food trucks. SE Hawthorne. It's a Portland staple. Funky thrift stores and great food options. Powell's Books is a must! Biggest independent bookstore in the world. You may even find signed copies of some books that have been secretly signed by authors. A restaurant skit in my city! I mean, this is exciting news!

McMenamins, there are a few locations primarily in and around Ptown. Good for entertainment, food, and lodging. They rehab old historic buildings giving them a very Gypsy like vibe

Don't be scared of downtown! its not as bad as the news makes it out. Powells is a must, its a full city block of books, with a decent coffee shop in it. Our Zoo is pretty great, and its right near Washington Park with the rose garden, Japanese gardens ect

dambo troll, Powell's books, Multnomah falls, Bonneville dam, eat at a burgerville, drive to Astoria if you can (where goonies was filmed), eat there at bow picker. So many great things out here!!

My first time through was just an overnight - I went to Ravens Manor for dinner! It's a Haunted Mansion restaurant. The bartender sent me on to the Black Cat custard shop (there is a speakeasy hidden in there) definitely the Voodoo Donut shop all of those stops are walking distance of each other.

Powell's books is so amazing. Multnomah falls is amazing. Hood River you can take a scenic train toward Mt Hood. Trillium Lake on Mt Hood. Its about an hour drive to the coast, but Lincoln City and Seaside are amazing. If you go to Multnomah Falls, the Vista House is along the way and has amazing views of the Columbia River Gorge, The Bridge of the God's. There are some Hot Springs around. Lots of farmers market type stuff on Suavie Island. Saturday Market on the waterfront is a must do.

Yalla, Tokyo Sando Portland spirit cruise. If you like Halloween town, they ooened sept 27th. There are some super fun farms that are doing all the fall stuff. Hopscotch in downtown Portland is fun! Omsi depending on the exhibits. What do y’all like?
