I personally don't like Miguel on account of what he said and did to Miles but this exactly. He's not this poor misunderstood boy who can do wrong nor a heartless demon with no sense of remorse. He's a grown ass man with a lot of unresolved trauma and baggage who has the "do it for the greater good" kind of mentality.

This is exactly why my self insert literally had a slowburn with Miguel that lasted YEARS, and ended up going nowhere because he messed it up in the end since he was too scared to commit to a relationship bc he wanted to hyperfixate himself with the multiverse and keeping everything in check😭 i wouldve made it simplified like others but it wouldn't have been realistic
