People are really missing the bit on the bottom acknowledging people wouldn’t handle the adaptation well lol… but while I do understand why it was probably changed, it would’ve been SO interesting if part of Gwen’s connection to the spider society and why she followed their rules was because of this moment of a lapse in judgment, feeling changing from “I wouldn’t have done this if I knew he was Peter” to “should I have done that at all” and that’s how the idea to accept Miguel’s oversight/beliefs. There’s a difference between accidentally killing the lizard and accidentally killing Peter because you didn’t know he was the lizard

okay people are getting mad at this video and legit all I have to say is, I’d rather have an interesting story/development and complexities like in the comics over pleasing the ignorant m*s*gynists 😭 I get it. this would make them hate her more. It feeds into stereotypes yattayatta. I just don’t get why we would sacrifice something in writing and stories purely because people who are ignorant, will be ignorant about it. they do that regardless.

when have they ever done this lmao? peter went from being a pain in the ssa in the comics to a nerdy dude who gets picked on. ntm doing this with the only relevant female spider person would rub alot of people in the wrong way, saying stuff like “oh shes too emotional to be spider-woman” and it would feed into alot of biggotry. not that they dont already hate her for no reason

I agree wholeheartedly all spider-people tend to have the arc where they are irresponsible with their powers until there are consequences and gwens is the most heartbreaking imo because unlike with uncle Ben she pretty much killed her Peter with her own hands a lot of people say they should not do this because of morons or whatever but honestly those people are gonna be morons no matter what so who cares make characters both male and female be complex its way more intresting
