When I started my secret TikTok account on maternity leave, I wasn’t trying to become an influencer. I didn’t have a huge following. I didn’t have a business. I had no experience. And I definitely didn’t think I’d be making £1,000+ a month from a TikTok account I’d started quietly from my phone. I was just a mum who knew maternity pay wasn’t going to be enough forever. I remember worrying about what would happen when my maternity leave ended. How was I going to afford everything? How could I bring in more money without spending even more time away from my daughter? And was I really going to have to go back to working full-time just to make ends meet? So I started learning about digital products, Canva and how social media could actually be monetised. Now, this is what life looks like because I decided to give that little secret account a chance: ✨ I regularly make £1,000+ months from my side hustle ✨ I’ve been able to reduce my hours at work ✨ I get more time with my daughter instead of having to work every hour I possibly can ✨ We’ve been able to fund family holidays and days out ✨ And now we’re renovating the home we’ve always dreamed of The crazy part? I started this because I hoped I could make an extra couple of hundred pounds a month. I never imagined it would become something that could genuinely change what our life looks like. And no, I didn’t have a secret skill or a huge audience. I just started.
