I’m sure they used rotoscoping with actual recital footage. Also this anime is depressing AF. But it’s good. One of my friends finally watched it and they were inspired to learn to play the piano.

if im not mistaken, they filmed the pianist who recorded all these songs and animated his hands to be arimas. don't remember where I read that so its possible thats wrong but kinda makes sense
