I miss going into town on a Saturday when it was a full day out. There were that many shops it took a full day to get through, now you couldn't spend a full day there if you wanted to there's that little. It genuinely makes me so sad my children won't get to experience the town like I did I'm glad I was in the last generation that did

The days where you could drive into any town in England and not have to worry about the cost of parking or ANPR cameras. We had a lot of freedom back then and we were a lot happier.

94 is when I started on Blackburn market as a Saturday boy. Almost put a lump in my throat, 90,s was a great decade for partying and music 🎶. Moved away many years ago but I do miss the place.

And then we moved into modern times and they absolutely destroyed its history. Especially knocking the market down! So many memories gone. Its sad to see when I visit the town now. Good to see this video of a much simpler and better time though. I personally hate what they've done to the place now. You can't get anything more British than the good old market they had. Our history was destroyed.

I have great memories from when I was young especially going down the spiral staircase that stunk of stale cigarettes. The exciting bit was at the bottom where the potato van was, me and my dad always got hot potatoes in a bag with butter. 😊

wow what memories! almost every Saturday was spent going into town with my mum, changing books at the library, buying sweets from the 3 day market and getting the weekly shop from the little tesco!

3 ans 5 day markets, was dragged throughout town on school holidays, Wednesday was bills in town, post office, Yorkshire Bank then on to 5 day markets butchers and fish market, occasionally stop at Walshs for a Sarsaparilla, at the time didn't realise how good them days were
