Kiswah of Kabah is sent from Cairo, Egypt on 8th March 1937. The Kiswah (the black cloth covering the Kaaba) was made in Egypt for many centuries. The tradition began during the Fatimid, Ayyubid, and Mamluk dynasties, continuing through the Ottoman period. Each year, a special caravan known as the Mahmal would transport the Kiswah from Cairo to Makkah in a grand procession.
