For me it’s nature, the sun “glitter” in the waves of Lake Michigan, when i unfocus my eyes and I see dots and lines of light, when i notice a hidden rainbow in the sunsets, when you can see the water dots on plants, when you notice little hearts in nature that you can only see from a certain angle. Anything in nature, it helps me so much for so many reasons it’s hard to fully explain.

I’ve listened to this many times since I’ve been a fan. I’m 24 now and I finally can really accept and understand what he’s saying here. When I was a teen listening to this, I wasn’t struggling with self worth, but I have been struggling with self worth as a young adult and it’s changed the way I hear this advice now. I am valuable as I am because of my inherent experience and knowledge from living, which means I can’t be not valuable, because I am living.

will never forget the time i had to do a speech over a poem or song in my 8th grade speech class, i chose this song and lil 13yo me got up in front of my class and teacher and basically just explained this in my own words and the coach thought it was the deepest thing ever and gave a whole talk to the class abt mental health etc 😭 i thought i was so deep and profound
