Let me guess what your life looks like. 👉🏾You're sitting in your car after a 12-hour shift because you don't have the energy to walk into your own house. 👉🏾You're crying in your car after work, wiping your face, and walking inside like you're fine. 👉🏾You're physically home with your family, but mentally you're still behind that pharmacy counter, thinking about the queue, the metrics, the vaccines, and everything you didn't get done. 👉🏾You wake up in the middle of the night wondering if you made a dispensing error, already dreading tomorrow's shift. I was doing the work of a lead AND manager after being told the position and raise would eventually be mine. I interviewed for the job I was practically already doing. I didn't get it. Then I became a mother, and everything changed. At 9 months pregnant, having active contractions, I sat through a digital marketing training because I knew I needed another option. Not another pharmacy job. Not another shift. Another OPTION. I learned how to leverage the online space to build income outside of pharmacy. Within 5 months, I replaced my pharmacist income. And I've never looked back. So no, I'm not telling you to quit tomorrow. I'm telling you this: Crying in your car, dreading the next shift, and giving your family whatever is left of you cannot be your plan for the next 30 years. You don't have to wait until pharmacy takes everything out of you before you start building another option. Because if making more money always requires giving away more of your time, your paycheck shouldn't be your only income plan. I didn't just build another income stream.
