I would have asked her when she got her Autism diagnoses. cos I think she is Autistic and cos Nigerians don't like getting diagnosed they shove it under being rude or mean.

Even as a Nigerian, I won’t tolerate such from a stranger 😏😏😏.. I once corrected a client during my 9 to 5 for naija, who called me slim. I told him my name is Grace not slim 😏😏😏

Nah!… Even if this was in Nigeria, it’s definitely not okay… people really need to mind their business and if they don’t… It’s fire for fire over here 😆😂

I no dey follow oyibo gist o for this country, even when they are teasing or jesting. I’ll greet you and face my work and go home. The things that you find normal when relating with people in Nigeria; if you try it here, you will be embarrassed.

This is why once someone in the professional asks me my name and then proceeds to ask if I’m Nigerian, I deny it cus it’s the entry door for familiarity. Half of the time they switch to Yoruba and I increase my American accent in English. We can meet at an owambe later outside work and they realize I’m actually Nigerian and I absolutely do not care 😂😂

Bad behaviour is behavior.. That we're accustomed to it doesn't make it okay.

That was how my husband was coaching my daughter's soccer team and told a girl to be a striker because she is big and other players will be scared of her if she has the ball. Na so this girl come dey cry. Even if he meant it as a compliment, it was bad. He went and apologized to the parents and the girl and the while team. From that day, I banned him from being a coach of any kind. Don't go out there and traumatize other people children. Stay your lane.

And you know the funny thing, when they do this and Oyibo takes it up, they will start saying “fear Oyibo”, Oyibo no be your friend” Oyibo too do but they will never say what they did.

I’m Ghanaian and I was recently at a convocation with a group of my Nigerian friends. We met this Nigerian girl who was really friendly but she completely crossed the line when it came to personal boundaries. Out of nowhere she asked if I was wearing underwear. When I asked her why she’d ask something like that she said my bum looked too soft and was moving like I wasn't wearing anything underneath. I told her I was wearing underwear but she kept insisting I wasn't. What she didn't know is that this is actually my biggest insecurity my bum is naturally very soft and jiggles easily. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve tried wearing tight, restrictive underwear just to hold everything firm and still but that ended up causing discomfort around my groin which I know isn't healthy. Her comments just made a sensitive issue so much worse. She was all over trying to belong or something 🤦‍♀️. She was talking about my bumbum and all my friends tried to divert the conversation but she was still talking about it. Oh you have a nice shape but your nyash jiggles a lot. Girl boundaries 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I am Ghanaian and I started loosing weight due to some stress I was going through. But I couldn’t tell anyone about it so I kept saying I was on a diet. Can you believe one Nigerian colleague of mine kept asking me to stop being on a diet because I look very unhealthy… I ignored her and walked away yet she kept following me and saying you must answer me today… I was like what’s going on here I felt soo embarrassed but I couldn’t report her because I don’t want people saying oh you reported your fellow black person… but honestly you just don’t speak about peoples weight like that.
