@atlasnocturna: What does a real journey to the tallest waterfall in the world actually look like? 🇻🇪 It all started the moment I landed in Canaima, where the team from Posada Simon Tour was waiting to pick me up. (A posada is basically a traditional local lodge that provides cozy rooms and all the logistics you need deep in the jungle). After dropping off my bags, I took a quick walking tour around the village. I stopped by the local church and the hospital and finished the tour down by the beautiful Canaima lagoon. The real adventure kicked off the next morning. I hopped into a curiara (a traditional dugout wooden canoe) and navigated the river for about 4 hours in total. During those 4 hours, we stopped for a 30-minute hike through the savanna and later made another stop to check out a stunning secondary waterfall along the way. By the end of the journey, we reached the camp, which sits literally face-to-face with Angel Falls. I spent the night sleeping in hammocks, fully immersed in the jungle. The next morning, we woke up early and started the trek toward the waterfall. The hike took about an hour and a bit, and standing right beneath it is a feeling you will never forget.
