@readerforeternity: And no, this is not about people not being able to criticize a song or swifties “defending everything she does.” NONE of the examples I put in this video are sole criticisms of the song. Wishing that something happened to her parents and her husband, attributing HER writing to a man simply because it fits your narrative, etc., for the sake of YOUR entertainment IS disgusting (and weirdly disturbing). Especially, when her songs, or videos, or whatever she releases are things YOU are NOT entitled to. None of us are. Some will be shameless and say “well, I stand by it.” Others will simply say “It’s just a joke, God, chill. 🙄” But you and I both know that’s not the case. Many of you have lost the ability to criticize things without going WAY beyond what the argument is actually about (in repulsive ways that have nothing to do with the subject at hand), and I could get into a whole other argument about how part of this is people’s laziness and lack of desire to genuinely engage with the media they consume because they rather have a “gotcha” moment.
