The persistent, gentle pitter-patter of morning rain against the floor-to-ceiling windows was the first sound to break the quiet hush of the master bedroom. Golden sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, painting warm streaks across the dark hardwood floor and casting a serene glow over the oversized bed. Oom stirred softly beneath the thick duvet, her senses slowly returning to her. The sharp, terrifying memories of yesterday's storm and screeching tires felt distant now, replaced by an overwhelming sense of weightless comfort. She opened her eyes, blinking away the fog of sleep, only to find her face buried directly into the soft fabric of a dark gray sweater. Bam’s steady, rhythmic heartbeat thuffed against Oom’s ear. One of Bam’s long, toned arms was draped firmly around Oom’s waist, locking her securely against her chest as if even in sleep, Bam refused to let her slip away. The scent of sandalwood, clean cotton, and rain clung to Bam's skin, warm and intoxicatingly familiar. Oom stayed completely still, her heart doing a giddy, fluttering flip in her chest. A shy, radiant smile spread across her face as she looked up. Bam was still asleep. Without the usual stoic armor and sharp business suits, her features looked remarkably soft, almost boyish in the gentle morning light. Strands of dark, silky hair fell loosely over her forehead, and her lips were relaxed into a tranquil curve. Careful not to disturb her slung arm or agitate her scraped knees, Oom slowly lifted her uninjured left hand. Her fingertips hovered for a moment before lightly, reverently tracing the line of Bam’s jawline, brushing over the high cheekbones that usually held such an unyielding expression.

"Still as gorgeous as ever." Oom whispered under her breath, a sweet blush creeping up her cheeks at her own thoughts. Suddenly, the waist-arm tightened, pulling Oom an inch closer. "I heard that," a low, raspy morning voice murmured against Oom’s hair. Oom gasped softly, her hand freezing against Bam’s chest as dark, warm eyes slowly fluttered open, locking onto hers with absolute focus. Bam’s lips twitched into a lazy, impossibly handsome smirk. "B-Bam, you were awake?" Oom stammered, her ears instantly turning bright red. She tried to pull back, but Bam’s hold on her waist remained firm and unyielding. "I woke up when you started staring," Bam murmured, her voice deep and thick with sleep. She leaned down, pressing a soft, lingering kiss onto Oom's temple, right beside the clean bandage. "How are you feeling today? Does your head hurt? What about your knees?" The genuine concern in Bam’s dark eyes melted away the last bit of Oom's embarrassment. She softened against Bam's embrace, resting her hand flat against Bam's chest, right over her beating heart. "I feel much better, Bam," Oom answered softly, offering a sweet smile. "The medicine helped, and sleeping beside you made everything stop hurting." Bam looked down at her, her gaze darkening with a sudden, profound intensity. The playful morning atmosphere shifted into something deeply emotional, charged with the unsaid feelings that had built up over weeks of silence and distance. "I was terrified yesterday, Oom," Bam confessed quietly, her hand rising to gently cup Oom's cheek, her thumb lightly stroking her warm skin. "When I saw that crashed car, when I couldn't find you in that ambulance. I felt like my entire world had collapsed. I realized how foolish I was for keeping my distance, for letting pride stand between us." #oomeisaya #bamsaralee #oombam #austory #aurecommendation
