He's sliding at the very last second. In a game where inches matter, we're expecting too much from defenders. The sliding rule needs a halo addendum added to it. If the defender is inside 3 yards, you're fair game to be hit, slide or no slide.

Momentum is momentum, you can’t stop your body once you’ve chose your next motion at full speed. He led with his shoulder…..one of those unfortunate freak accidents. One major issue is the QB Slide rule, him seeing him coming at him at full speed led to him deciding to slide right into that hit. Prayers up for Dante
