@elysian360studio 😍 When I first started doing brows I learned the compact/solid outline and it took me many months of practice to get really good at it. Eventually I started experimenting with other outline styles and pixelated/shaded outline became my favorite! In order to achieve a beautiful pixelated outline: 1. Always have a firm/taut stretch so the needle doesn’t tug on the skin 2. Pick a very small amount of pigment to avoid ink spillage and visibility issues 3. Keep the needle hang short, around 1.5 to 2mm, for better control and stability. Adjust the length based on skin thickness, voltage, and stroke length 4. Mimic the shading motion! Needle starts in the air, lands softly on the skin and left off the skin 5. For pixelated outline, I overlap anywhere from 60-90% if I’m going for a shaper more defined outline I’ll overlap 90%. If I’m going for powdery borderless effect I overlap around 60% 6. The shorter the sections, and the more you overlap the more intense the outline will come out 7. Keep wiping your sections as you go so you don’t lose your outline, I use a damp q-tip with Cetaphil cleanser to wipe the outline. 8. Ensure that you feel the vibration at your fingertips while outlining. If there is no vibration, it means the needle did not penetrate the skin, resulting in no outline even if you see ink coming out of your cartridge 9. Start with a test spot by outlining a small section to find your ideal pressure. Adjust it slightly depending on the area of the brow you are working on. 10. Allow the ink to oxidize. Outline a small section and wipe it with a damp q-tip. Wait a few seconds to see if the ink oxidizes and the outline becomes visible. If not, slow down your hand speed, overlap more, or adjust your pressure. In extreme cases, such as extremely textured thick skin, you may need to use a longer stroke machine.
