i genuinely miss the time when he had like 4 fans, maybe I am blinded by nostalgia, but I have read so many biased takes about him, especially on tiktok is crazy. Like no, he didnt cure eleazar out of kindess, he saw it as a weapon and stablized it. No he isnt morally grey, the game states how he literally lost his compassion, and how selfish he is. and the most suprising take is to me, that many fans genuinely believe he wants to free humanity from celestia, excusing his crimes for a greater good, but the game literally never ever stated the game cares about humanity, as individuals to help them elevate. He dislikes the restrictions the gods placed on humans, and all his goal are self-driven. Most of his fans are convinced that he is just a misunderstood guy who was always mistreated, but this isnt that simple

Honestly the only things I am upset about with the current situations is that, while yes, dottore is undeniably evil duh, hoyoverse making him SUCH a big scapegoat kind of made it..boring?🥲 eeeverything is just his fault, and its so upsetting because I was hoping to see more evil fatui, not just dottore himself, even if he is my favourite. Back when sumeru first released I loved him so so much because his fandom was rather small, and I feel a lot of new fans truly do downplay his character. Despite all of that, I still believe he is a tragic character when looking at how he never did and never will belong anywhere, but I feel most his fans get too attached to that part of his character because they, too, relate to it. ps: the situation with sandrone dosent bother me in the way that she insulted dottore, when does she not? its not like hes not a monster, only he was called farm animal in cn which rubbed off wrong even on the cn community. It's more so hoyo's horrible writing and thinly veiled racism that ticks me off, but somehow sandrone fans took this the wrong way but hey! at least we're back when sumeru first released with us being called everything under the sun 😂
