this comes in postwar Japan after the US occupation force ordered Japan to rewrite its laws. Gordon plays an important part by rewiring japanese law giving women more rights. She drafted article 24 (marriage and family rights) and article 14 (equality) ensuring equal rights in divorce, property and marriage. she was born in Austria to Russian Jewish descent, moved to Japan at the age of 5 and to the US at 16 yo. she was fluent in Japan and worked as translator. I don't see why giving women rights especially in highly patriarchal Japan is bad and have 'hidden agenda' 😒
